England XI won their 3-day match against the Pakistan Cricket Board XI by 100 runs today at the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai. England after declaring their first innings at 269 for 9 had PCB in all sorts of trouble with left arm spinner Monty Panesar taking five wickets. PCB XI as a result declared its first innings at a modest 200 for 9. No.9 Raza Hasan was the top scorer with an unbeaten 50.
England set up the match by declaring its second innings at 181 for 3 after useful batting practice to Skipper Andrew Strauss (62) and Jonathan Trott (93). The target for PCB XI was just 251 but the Pakistani team collapsed to 150 all out. ODI discard Fawad Alam was the top scorer with 51. Graham Onions and Monty Panesar picked up three wickets each to bowl England to a 100-run victory.
